Does not fit

This did not my fit my Hayward micro clear de filter model de6000 even though your sight said it would. It fits around the tank, however leaks. If the circumference is 1/2 inch, I need one slightly larger. The original i am replacing is 5/8 or 6/8 and does not leak, just letting old
